No matter whether it's your first interview or you are used to all that stuff, you always feel confused about what to wear to a job interview. If that's the case you are wondering about, I'm here to share a complete guide of dressing up for an interview. Let's get started.

Prepare Yourself ahead of time

If you think of handling it all on the day of the interview, it's a big mistake of your life. On job interview day, you have to revise answers and feel as relaxed as possible. Exploring your interview attire option is always a bad idea, which you should skip right away. So, please plan what you want to wear one day before the job interview.

Your Comfort is Essential

Many candidates make a mistake, they pick a dress they never feel comfortable with. It's not something you should do at any cost. If you are not comfortable, you won't sound confident. Putting yourself in misery or discomfort by choosing wrong attire is a costly mistake that might cost you this job opportunity. Always focus on your comfort. If you feel good with your clothing, it leads to great performance at a job interview.

Look into Company

You need to blend in with company culture. When choosing an attire for a job interview, please look into the company dress code. See what its employees wear. This quick pee into company helps you pick your own dress. You don't need to become a perfect copycat but at least it should look something closer to what others wear.

Types of Interview Attire

Here are three different kinds of Attire that you can wear at your next job interview. It's time to explore the details of each option below.

Casual

It is my favorite one as I always feel comfortable in casual clothing. It lets me feel more confident and more myself. Many companies prefer casual clothing as it keeps employees at ease and helps them focus more on their work and less on looks. But it doesn't mean appearance doesn't count at all and you can wear anything. It simply means you can pick something from your semi-formal style of clothing.

Women can pick dark denim with casual shirts. Accessories could be simple jewelry and flat shoes.Men can opt for dress sneakers, dark denim, and shirts. Stay away from your casual sneakers and T-Shirt as they won't help you set a good impression on your employer.

Business Casual

Whenever you are in doubt about what to wear to an interview since you have little or no insight into a company, business casual can be the ultimate right choice. Women can select button up shirt or a conservative blouse. Pair it with a skirt or trouser in dark tones. Business appropriate shoes are required such as loafers, flats and heels. In my personal opinion, skirts and heels are the best combination to impress your recruiter.

As far as men are concerned, they can skip the tie but getting a shirt and jacket with dress pants is a good choice. I know men have limited choices. Although a jacket is optional, you can get it to have a more refined look at business job interviews in Israel.

In case you need a very comfortable look at your interview, you can pair up a dress pants with a dress shirt and then top it with an elegant sweater. Show your personality by switching to dark shades and tones.

Business Attire (Formal)

You need to look as polished as you can with formal attire. Women need to go with traditional suits. Matching it all works but not all the time. You can wear formal jewelry, stud earrings will do the magic in your look. Men need to wear a full suit alongside a tie. Keep it graceful with black or grey full suit. To spice up your look, you can rely on cufflinks. Another idea is to wear a nice-looking watch. Women should stick with formal heels while men can only choose from different shades of boots.

Final Note

Finally, you have got a clear picture in your mind about what to wear to a job interview. Casual one works for most jobs but many top companies only rely on formal attire. Make sure whatever you pick for your job interview boost up the grace element of your persona and let you feel comfortable. Whether you opt for a virtual interview or a face-to-face one, you will have to dress up for success. Thereby, choose clothing carefully.
